Our youngest students will be learning with Chelsea most of the time, and Heather now and then.  For these students we use Wunderkeys, which you can learn about at www.wunderkeys.com.  These books are modern, up to date, fun, and Canadian!  Kids love them.  They are colourful and comic-book story-based, with plenty of activities other than just sitting at the piano.  The books are available on amazon.ca.   These students will have weekly half-hour lessons.

Preschoolers will use the Wunderkeys Preschool books.  Lessons are weekly, parent is welcome to stay but not needed.  The lessons are full of varied activities that introduce musical skills and skills that lead towards playing the piano.

Students in Kindergarten or higher will begin in Wunderkeys Primer Book One.  These students will need to be practicing at home regularly in order to succeed.  The books are engaging and fun, but repetition is still the key to learning so make a space and time in your life for daily piano playing.  Wunderkeys Primer Book One leads to books Two then Three, and after that Wunderkeys Elementary Books 1A, 1B, and 2.  The Elementary books blend nicely into the Royal Conservatory of Music Preparatory Level for students who want to continue that way, but there are also lots of Wunderkeys resources for older students too.
